Head of Strategy, Healthcare Company
Our client, a leading healthcare company, is looking to recruit a Head of Strategy.
Thr focus of the role is to play a key position in the development of the strategy and delivering key initiatives, working alongside the Strategy Director.
Deliver key strategic initiatives: Support the delivery of “go-to-market” strategies to deliver sustainable value creating growth. Play a lead role (thought leadership, project and stakeholder management with limited supervision) on strategy reviews and key strategic initiatives
Provide strategic input to the development agenda: Work with Finance and Bus Development to provide strategic input into the development agenda both organic and inorganic, working with finance to manage the portfolio of businesses and drive value creating acquisitions and disposals.
Strengthen strategy skills build interdependence: Help to develop the skills and capabilities of those involved in strategy development across the business.
Maintain an external perspective: Responsible for exploring selected future trends and developments which may provide material opportunities or otherwise have a significant impact on the business. Work proactively with other functions to assess impact of key future trends and develop appropriate action plans to exploit the opportunities or mitigate their impact.
Qualifications
A high quality degree (2:1 or higher) in a numerate subject preferable
A relevant post graduate business qualification (e.g. MBA) preferable
Experience / knowledge
A solid track record and significant experience in corporate strategy development / strategic consulting. You are probabaly going to be at the Engagement Manager - Principal level with a leading consulting firm, or Director level/ equivalent with another healthcare business.
The jobholder will need to be technically expert in the disciplines of business and strategic analysis, have a good understanding of strategy tools/principles and techniques, and be able to apply these pragmatically
Knowledge and interest in current strategic and management thinking and the ability to translate academic, management thinking into business solutions.
