Head of Wholesale & Commercial Financial Crime recruitment
Lead a team of financial crime specialists within the Risk Division to embed requirements for and provide oversight of, all necessary risk management activities in respect of financial crime risks within the Wholesale and Commercial Divisions.
Manage the interface between the Risk Division and the Wholesale, Commercial businesses and relevant Business Unit Control Functions (BUCFs) in respect of compliance with Group requirements for:
- Anti-Money Laundering and Counter Terrorist Financing;
- Sanctions; and
- Anti-Bribery
Build a relationship with the Wholesale and Commercial businesses to ensure that the Group’s Financial Crime policies (Anti-Money Laundering, Sanctions and Anti-Bribery) are thoroughly embedded and the necessary monitoring and reporting is undertaken such that financial crime risks are considered and controlled in line with appetite.
Key Accountabilities
• Lead and develop the Wholesale and Commercial financial crime strategy, including processes and methodologies that are suitable for the business and allow financial crime risks to be managed and measured in line with the Group’s risk appetite.
• Provide technical subject matter expertise in response to AML, sanctions and anti-bribery related queries within the Commercial and Wholesale businesses.
• As part of the financial crime leadership team, develop and maintain relationships with a wide range of key stakeholders to obtain / exchange information, influence behaviours and as appropriate respond to changes in the internal and external business and regulatory environment.
• Support, challenge and oversight the Wholesale and Commercial business’s compliance with the Group’s financial crime procedures, guidelines and reporting requirements as well as any relevant regulatory and statutory requirements.
• Oversee the approval and sign off of business waivers / CIC / permissions / regulatory processes and monitor relevant material event escalation issues.
• Support and develop financial crime awareness and procedural training for relevant BUCF and business colleagues. Review the business financial crime reporting and MI, providing an escalation route for key financial crime risks and issues.
• Lead key financial crime projects and represent Financial Crime Risk as the SME for Wholesale and Commercial related project committees, highlighting the needs and requirements of both the businesses and financial crime risk management.
• Liaise with the financial crime policy teams to input to financial crime strategy and policy, representing the Wholesale and Commercial businesses in these contexts.
• Work with the financial crime assurance teams to develop risk based financial crime assurance plans to provide robust independent assurance to the GEC, Board and risk-related sub-committees on the effectiveness of financial crime controls in the business
• Lead, motivate, develop and appraise own direct reports so that their individual and collective performance is of the required standard and meets the current and future needs of the business
• Ensure the team’s compliance with the Bank’s procedures guidelines and reporting requirements as well as any relevant regulatory and statutory requirements
• Own the team business plan and financial planning, budgeting and forecasting process as required, in order to meet or exceed the agreed performance objectives
• Become proactively involved in Wholesale and Commercial strategic development and programmes/projects for furthering our business aims within accepted financial crime risk appetite
