Head of Wholesale Credit Analytics recruitment

This organisation is a major multi national financial services and banking provider with an exceptional track record of growth and success in their chosen markets. Due to an internal move they are now seeking an executive with exceptional leadership, stakeholder engagement as well as analytical and modeling skills to take the reigns of this critical function.

The Head of Wholesale Banking Analytics is responsible for the management and delivery of a portfolio of credit risk models to cover the full range of Wholesale exposures in the Banking Book of the bank. Portfolios are multi-geography and covers Asia Pacific (some exposures in Europe and US). It covers the full scope of Basel 2 models (PD, LGD and EAD) and the full range of portfolios (from country, sovereign, Large Corporate, MMEs, SMEs, Private Banking and specialised models). It includes a number of Low Default Portfolios.

Manage a wide range of modelling projects from low through to a high degree of complexity. Models can be fully statistical, hybrid or expert driven.

Accountable for ensuring that the full portfolios of wholesale projects and services is delivered according to the Bank standards.

Stakeholder management and engagement is crucial to the delivery of the portfolio and the job holder is expected to positively engage and manage senior stakeholders, as well as provide representation, where appropriate, to members of the modelling governance community.

Seen as a thought leader and trusted advisor by all stakeholders due to their subject matter expertise and proven ability to deliver value-add services.

Key member of the department leadership team and in this role is expected to make a full contribution to the setting and execution of departmental strategy and team management.

Manages a team of approx 15 FTEs located in 2 geographies (Australia, India).

The job holder can expect to work with the following clients, stakeholders, departments and service providers:

Group Wholesale Credit, Credit Ratings System Oversight Committee and associated Working Groups, Enterprise Wide Risk Strategy, Group Model Validation, Business unit experts and model users, Internal Audit, External Audit (reviews and consulting), Ratings Agencies and relevant data suppliers

The capacity to deliver complex projects in a multi-stakeholders environment is a key success factor of this position.

Another key success factor is the ability to be able to lead a competent  team to be able to deliver the projects. That also means that the job holder needs to be hands on and able to supervise, review and challenge the work done by the analysts to ensure the models delivered are fit for purpose.
