Head, Wholesale Bank Transaction Taxes recruitment

Job Description

You will be a senior member of the Wholesale Bank Tax team.

You will lead efforts to manage transactional tax risk and ensure that the Bank is adequately equipped to respond effectively to changes in the transactional tax landscape.

Key Roles Responsibilities

* Business Support:
* Keep abreast of transaction taxes introduced/ anticipated in all Wholesale Banking jurisdictions and onward communicating the implications to businesses.
* Work with business support tax teams in Wholesale Banking Tax to plan and achieve efficiencies/ savings to the businesses and to mitigate the impact of new transactional tax changes.

* Transactional Tax Risk Management:
* Work with Country Tax/ Finance/ Operations teams on Wholesale Banking compliance to transaction taxes obligations across all Wholesale Banking jurisdictions.
* Work with local country tax/ external advisors and process owners (Finance or Operations) to imbed transaction tax compliance within existing processes.
* Undertake transactional tax diagnostic reviews on new/ existing business models.
* Establish procedures for transactional tax and processes are properly communicated to relevant Business/ Operations teams in Wholesale Banking.
* Ensure risk assurance process implemented effectively within the Wholesale Banking Business/ Operations.
* In conjunction with Business Tax teams, ensure that transactional tax comments in Product Programs, Product Addenda and Country Addenda are effective.

* Stakeholder Management:
* Maintain relationships with FM/ TB business heads, COOs, Finance and other relevant Wholesale Banking stakeholders to increase tax awareness while identifying transactional tax risk and opportunities

* Team Leadership:
* Partner with the Country Tax Operations teams across geographies to leverage on local expertise.

Qualifications Skills

* Excellent tax technical experience with working knowledge of international tax principles
* Many years' experience with preferably 5 years in the security services tax industry
* Tertiary qualification
* Good communicator with ready appreciation of business issues
* Team player with ability to function independently
* Self-motivated and decisive
* Enthusiastic, intelligent and continually learning
* Good analytical and interpretative skills
* Proficiency in computer applications (MS Word, MS Excel, MS Powerpoint, MS Outlook, etc)
