Health Care Assistant/Technician Band 3

An interesting role for 10 healthcare Assistants/Technicians is available. We are recruiting Healthcare assistants to support the medical examinations carried out at the five Army recruitment centres in England, Northern Ireland and Scotland. The Healthcare Assistants will assist doctors and nurses to carry out medical examinations on recruits for regular Army and the Army reserve force selection processes.

The healthcare assistants (HCA) will be required to work Fridays and Saturdays each week, on full time hours each day. Enhanced pay is available for the Saturday shift. There are two vacancies at each location. The HCA’s need to be able to undertake ECG’s, audiometry testing, eye tests, blood pressure taking and recording, urine sample management. Experience in all or any of these testing methods is required. Some training will be possible.

The potential positions are available immediately, and will be ongoing and regular, subject to the Healthcare assistants’ commitment and good performance. They will take place in five locations in England (Surrey, Wiltshire and Staffordshire) Scotland (near Edinburgh) and in Belfast, Northern Ireland.
HCA’s that are located within a reasonable travelling distance from these locations are favoured would be favoured.

The positions would be ideal for HCA’s that wish to have a flexible working arrangement. Other days may be available subject to performance and availability.
