Hays Healthcare are currently recruiting Healthcare Professional assistants to support clinical practitioners in the provision of administering effective pre-hospital clinical care. The role involves providing initial scene management and support to qualified practitioners.
You will be responsible for responding when appropriate using advanced emergency driving and manual handling skills, to medical emergencies, inter-hospital transfers, urgent hospital admissions and other operational duties to ensure the safe transfer of patients to and from vehicles.
You will ensure compliance where appropriate in line with our client’s guidelines, policies and procedures and be personally accountable for clinical decisions made during the course of duty, ensuring patients receive the highest quality of care
The role also entails carrying out vehicle equipment checks and restock as required at the start of duty in accordance with Trust policy and procedures, ensuring that the vehicle is roadworthy, properly kitted, cleaned (paying particular attention to infection control) and stocked, faults or omissions reported and all appropriate recording procedures completed.
The Person:
• You will have a full UK Driving License and C1
• 3 GCSEs at Grade C or above including English and Maths (or equivalent)
• Previous experience of working in a customer care role
• Understanding of the Highway Code
• Ability to work within a Team environment and alone.
• Customer Service / People Skills.
• Ability to demonstrate safe manual handling skills to the level required for the job role.
• Flexible approach to work and shift work
Previous experience as a healthcare assistant is desirable but not essential as full training is provided for this role.
