Description: The primary function of the Security Specialist is to protect life and property. -Protecting Life: providing public safety to the client, employees, guests and the general public -Protecting Property: safeguarding the client?s property (buildings, office equipment, automobiles, valuables or anything within the client?s premises) from being stolen, destroyed or damaged Customer Service: The Healthcare Security Specialist will be responsible for the effective and efficient processing of all customer service requests made in the field. The Security Specialist will effectively utilize tools and processes, along with other communication devices to process and distribute customer requests by utilizing the highest quality response processes implemented by the security operations organization. Access Control: The Healthcare Security Specialist will serve as the first responder to campus safety and security issues, along with being responsible for the effective and efficient processing of customer service requests made in the field. The Security Specialist I will effectively utilize tools and processes, as well as other communication devices to properly maintain security and safety. Crisis Management: The Healthcare Security Specialist will be a major contributor to the security operations team in the event of a local crisis situation that would threaten the safe and secure operations of business. This could include, but is not limited to: natural disasters, workplace violence, facility emergencies, fire and issues of serious injury or illness. Information Management: The Healthcare Security Specialist will be responsible for the effective and efficient processing of information relevant to the security operations business. This will include, but is not limited to: effective personal response to safety/security issues, effective distribution of all information received via electronic means (email, intranet, automated service requests, etc.), allocation and assignment of information to the appropriate department or individual and effective documentation of information received processed. The Security Specialist will be responsible for ensuring that all information, regardless of its nature, is received, processed and documented in a high quality, effective and efficient manner. Systems Operations: The Healtcare Security Specialist will be responsible for the effective performance of tasks associated with the operation of all tools and processes within the security organization. This includes but is not limited to: security access control systems, CCTV systems, alarm management systems, customer service database systems, company email and communications devices. Essential Functions: Serve as a general security presence and visible deterrent to crime and rule infractions. Detect suspicious activities. Watch for criminal acts or rule infractions at or near given post which may be a threat to the facility, client or employees at the site. Report all incidents, accidents or medical emergencies to the appropriate person. Provide access control to facilities. Patrol facility properties with random walking patrols or vehicle and bike patrols, where avaiable. Perform safety and equipment inspections. Provide customer service and problem-solving. Respond to emergencies, such as medical and bomb threats; and to alarms, such as fire and intrusion. Report unsafe acts and environmental conditions. Enforce company and client policies, rules and regulations. Escort staff and visitors on the client?s property. Provide other services as specified by the Post Orders. Perform all essential functions inside and outside the property with exposure to inclement weather and unpredictable crisis situations. Report to work as assigned, and complete shift assignment, including overtime, as assigned. Report to work on time. Report to work in complete and clean uniform. Qualifications: 1. Must be at least 21 years of age. 2. High school diploma or GED, plus at least one verifiable employment; or at least 10 years of verifiable employment history. An associates degree or equivalent level of experience Highly Preferred 3. No criminal convictions as specified under AlliedBarton Guidelines. 4. Ability to read, write and speak English. 5. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing for the purpose of public interaction and report writing. 6. Able to provide proof of ability to work in the United States. 7. Ability to perform essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation. 8. Ability to interact with all levels of AlliedBarton and client employees and the public in a direct, timely and professional manner. 9. Ability to deal with internal and external customers and to ensure compliance with fair employment practices. 10. Ability to get along with other employees, follow directions, work under stress, add value and continuously improve. 11. Ability to conform with established procedures and to help identify and solve problems. 12. Ability to maintain regular attendance to ensure avoidance of unpredictable, frequent and/or ongoing tardiness. 13. Negative result on pre-employment drug screen. 14. Successful completion of AlliedBarton?s Security Officer Basic Course exam. 15. Successful completion of HIPPA Training. 16. Successful Completion of MOAB / CPI or comparable de-escalation training 17. Successful completion of Bloodborne Pathogen Training 18. Successful completion of PATH or comparable Training 19. Valid driver?s license and a three year clean driving history. 20. Prior experience in the security operations industry or related field preferred 21. Possess good computer skills with ability to effectively operate and manage tools and processes. Systems include, but are not limited to: security access control, CCTV alarm systems, email, intranet systems and complex communication device systems. 22. Must possess strong communication skills in both the written verbal format, and in all delivery formats (i.e. in person, via telephone, via radio, etc.). 23. Must have professional demeanor and appearance. 24. Must not have active TB. 25. Must be willing and able to work multiple shift schedules and be flexible regarding scheduling of assignments. 26.
