Heavy Duty (Class 8) Advanced Triage
Position Description:
Skills and Qualification
The Advanced Triage - Diagnostic Technician will directly work under the shift foremen and will be responsible for triaging diagnosing all incoming trucks through the service department. You will be required to work quickly and efficiently to locate the root cause of the customers complaints, so estimates can be made promptly, and parts ordered for other technicians to complete the work. You will be allocated (1) one entry level technician who you will mentor through the workshop for their first (12) twelve months, and under agreement with the foremen, you will allocate the entry level technician suitable work for his skill set, and you will oversee his work process and the completion of the work.
For this key role in our workshop, we are looking for the best of the best technicians, who possess a very high level of knowledge of the entire truck and its components.
Qualifications required for this role:
- At least 7+ years as a lead (A) technician.
- Cummins, CAT and Paccar current certifications and promo codes.
- A complete understanding of Cummins Rapid Serve, CAT SIS (Service Information System), Paccar Davie - Support Net and Eaton and Meritor procedures.
- Extensive knowledge in the repair and maintenance of transmissions, axles, drive-lines, brakes, steering and electrical components.
- Heavy Truck - Commercial Vehicle Drivers License.
- Strong verbal documentation skills
- Strong character work ethic
- Dependable, responsible team player with a positive attitude
- Own and provide your own tools.
