Hedge Fund Consultant Relations Associate recruitment

DYAL Capital seeks to acquire minority equity stakes in established hedge fund managers (i.e., AUM of over $1.5bn to $7bn.) Dyal’s objective is to ultimately partner with approximately 12 to 15 institutional quality hedge fund firms that have experienced management teams and successful track records. The team completed its first investment in December, 2011 with Capital Fund Management (CFM), a $6bn AUM Paris based hedge fund manager that specializes in quantitative strategies and completed its second transaction in June, 2012 with MAST Capital Management, a $1.4bn Boston based hedge fund manager that focuses on various long and short credit strategies globally.

Key responsibilites include:

Successful candidates will have a demonstrated ability to leverage the consulting firms which are significant factors in the single strategy hedge fund allocation market. Extensive and current relationships with the field consultants and hedge fund researchers is a prerequisite. Responsibilities include marketing the Dyal platform as well as the investment capabilities of our hedge fund partners. 

Additionally, candidates will have the professional experience and gravitas to constructively coach our hedge fund portfolio companies on succeeding with consultants through the entire allocation process. 

Finally, successful candidates will have the ability to be significant contributors to hedge fund business consulting assignments Dyal undertakes for its hedge fund partners, particularly in the area of product development. 

Qualified candidates will have:

•  Undergraduate degree, as well as excellent academic credentials; graduate degree preferred

•  2-10 years of experience in consultant coverage as an asset management fund or hedge fund research within a major consultancy firm focused on single strategy hedge funds

•  Demonstrated experience developing investor/consultant relations within single strategy hedge fund world

•  Strong judgment and critical thinking skills; ability to articulate and present ideas effectively both orally

and in written form

•  Ability to multi-task with a fine-tuned attention to detail

•  Team-player attitude and a desire to work on a wide range of projects
