Hedge Fund Credit Analyst recruitment

The FLOW team is responsible for managing the credit lines provided to Hedge Funds primarily engaged in trading OTC derivatives with the bank and also the rating of hedge funds for both credit, collateral and equity purposes. This team currently includes six people. 

The SOL team is responsible for managing the risk of the funding business under which SG provides lending facilities to funds of funds and family offices. The SOL team of five people is also responsible for approving Hedge Fund investments, rating and setting limits for collateral and equity exposure taken on by SG Group entities.

RESPONSIBILITIES

The HF Risk Group is currently looking for a hard working, strongly motivated Credit Analyst to support the SOL team in its daily activities. The responsibilities of the position include:

* Attending Hedge Fund and Fund of Funds due diligences with a senior analyst – the goal is to have the candidate grow quickly to the level of senior analyst handling his/her own portfolio of clients

* Completing the due diligence reports and rating models

* Contributing to the structuring of transactions in coordination of the other groups (legal, sales, engineering)

* Negotiating credit terms of ISDA agreements

* Managing client credit lines and transaction parameters

* Monitoring of portfolio and addressing exceptions

* Building proficiency with all systems used by the group

TECHNICAL SKILLS

Required/Must have:

* The position requires extensive usage of Excel and of the different types of databases and platforms used by the team.

* Experience with MS Access, Excel, Macros, and VBA

Desired/Plus:

* Ability to use Bloomberg APIs

COMPETENCIES

Required/Must have:

* Good analytical skills. The primary goal of the position is to build up the analyst experience with Hedge Funds in order for him/her to be able to conduct due diligence meetings and quickly extract the key strengths and weaknesses of the entity under review.

* Good writing skills. This is very important as much of the work involves writing reviews.

* Self-starter: the team is often stretched thin due to tight deadlines. In addition, systems and processes are constantly evolving. The analyst is expected to learn fast and work independently as well as contribute to the HFR team when needed.

* Good communication skills.

PRIOR WORK EXPERIENCE

Required/Must have:

* 3-6 years experience in the financial industry.

* Seasoned with respect to financial analysis and financial statements.

Desired/Plus:

* Experience with Hedge Funds preferred but not mandatory.

* Other useful experience includes ISDA negotiation, Derivative trading, back office issues (booking pricing).

EDUCATION

Required/Must have:

* Minimum of a Bachelors Degree from a top University

Desired/Plus:

* MBA/CFA a plus but not mandatory
