Hedge Fund Mandate Collector

The Newsletter team at Bloomberg is working on a new product to build a search-able database of Hedge Fund Mandates. The role sits within the Bloomberg Mandates project, an initiative currently in the Research and Development phase, with an expected launch this fall. The ideal candidate would be based out of New York and would collect mandates locally as well as from the east coast institutional investors in hedge funds and private equity.

Responsibilities would include developing and maintaining relationships with decision makers at institutional investors (which we define as family offices and funds of funds as well as pensions, endowments and foundations) with the goal of reporting the specific requirements for their investment manager hires and entering this information into a proprietary database.

Since large portions of the job involve interfacing with institutional investors in private equity and hedge funds, a background as a placement agent, or in capital introductions, or in the marketing department of a fund, is desirable.

This contract position will run through Dec. 31, 2013 and possibly longer. The role can be done remotely and affords flexible hours, however since many New York-area institutions will be covered somebody local to the area is preferred. Pay is competitive.
