Hedge Fund Operations Analyst – 40-45k + large bonuses

The fund is a fairly recent startup but given its strong start and impressive AUM they recently diversified with a new fund launch. The CFO/COO requires an additional hire on the operations team to take sole ownership of the newly launched fund. Despite hiring at a junior level the individual is to work very closely to the PM’s, CEO and CRO. It is also the expectation of the CRO (a partner) that the hire is to be ‘the go to person’ regarding any IT matters for all of operations / middle office. This is on both a daily basis and also in being key for upcoming projects to improve the infrastructure. The hire should enjoy pressure situations and thrive on having responsibilities far beyond their level of experience.

The client expects the hire to be in the role for around two years before progressing elsewhere in the fund. Progression on the business side would be the preferred route, hence why we are looking for a hire with the right personality for the front office and ideally a strong academic background. They are also realistic and would be happy to assist the individual in securing a more senior operations / MO role (head of position) elsewhere if they prefer to stay in the operations space. You must be a graduate with solid academics that is currently in an operations role at another hedge fund IT skills are key so we need to ensure that the candidate is advanced Excel and possesses additional skills, ideally VBA, writing macros etc.

The fund can be flexible around base salary but ideally see the role paying 40-45k, especially as they have an aggressive bonus structure that would be seen as being far more attractive than almost all other funds hiring at this level.
