Research Manager / Supervisory Analyst
POSITION OVERVIEW
The firm is looking to hire a Research Manager / Supervisory Analyst. Working closely with our Chief Compliance Officer, Managing Partner and broader team of Portfolio Managers and Analysts the successful candidate will:
- Review all internally generated investment research write-ups, perform quality control and content management reviews for all written products
- Ensure data and sources are accurately recorded and views are consistent
- Ensure that the basis for views and changes in views is clearly and logically laid out
- Work with PMs to produce and memorialize research ideas where needed
- Review content of existing reports for compliance concerns, improve product through active questioning
- Engage with lead research analysts and junior members of their teams to improve the quality of research
- Identify and ensure research product meets both internal standards and regulatory requirements and maintain communication flow with CCO to flag and investigate any potential issues
QUALIFICATIONS
The ideal candidate will have:
- Minimum 7+ years of work experience including experience as a research analyst or supervisory analyst at a sell side firm or similar role at a hedge fund or asset management firm
- Bachelor’s degree
- Knowledge of financial terminology, accounting terms and calculations; familiarity with a broad range of securities, business and industry terminology; an understanding of equity valuation and economic concepts.
- Proficiency in use of Microsoft desktop software—Word, Excel, Outlook.
- High-energy, an entrepreneurial spirit, diligence, humility and the ability to communicate effectively and collaborate with colleagues
- Excellent communication skills, persistence and a strong sense of urgency
- Strong technical, organizational and problem-solving skills, attention to detail, ability to think creatively
- Ability to focus, work effectively under pressure and follow instructions
