High Frequency Data & Analytics: Sr. Developer Trading Research, Global Trading recruitment
The High Frequency Data Analytics Team captures high frequency data across global markets, and enhances the dataset by creating distributing analytics to research, trading, portfolio management and alpha-generation teams across the firm.
We use state-of-the art Tick Data Management Analytics Tools (OneTick), plus customized tools developed and supported in-house, to provide timely insight into market micro-structure. The team is a small but impactful, whose profile is growing as the use of high-frequency data increases.
We are seeking a new member to work closely with Trading, Research, and Product Development Teams to develop and support the tools and processes used as we grow our High Frequency Platform globally.
Responsibilities
This position requires solid hands-on programming and troubleshooting skills, experience with financial data management, coupled with an enthusiasm for learning quantitative analysis.
- Work on end-to-end development of the next generation high frequency data and analytics platform (grid) in an agile, fast-paced environment.
- Implement processes for real-time data collection and real-time analytics using OneTick high-frequency database analytics platform.
- Proactively support and maintain the system with part of the team.
- Communicate effectively with end users (traders, portfolio managers, researchers, capital markets) and fellow technologists across the firm.
- Perform ad-hoc query and data support to help Capital Markets, Institutional Sales, and Research team react to changes in the financial markets (eg, Flash Crash).
- Use OneTick Database Analytics Engine as well as visualization tools like Tableau and Panopticon to expose represent complex analytics in an intuitive manner.
Qualifications
- Experience in a high frequency data team, analytics team, or market data team is required.
- Minimum Bachelors in Computer Science or related field. Masters preferred.
- 8+ years of work experience preferably with a financial firm.
- Excellent problem solving and troubleshooting skills, self-starter.
- Domain knowledge of securities trading and various asset is preferred.
- Good communication and client relationship management skills.
- Strong work ethic and a keen sense of accountability. Ability to prioritize and multi-task.
- Attention to detail and maintaining high data quality standards.
Required Technical Skills
- 5+ years hands-on experience in writing non-trivial SQL, DDL/DML and stored procedures required.
- 5+ years using one of the following languages : PERL, Java, C++.
- Hands-one experience with OLTP and OLAP systems using Sybase IQ, Sybase ASE, Oracle or systems like Greenplum or Vertica
5+ years Unix shell and scripting skills to perform data systems management tasks - Significant career experience with data scrubbing, gap analysis and data reconciliation of large data sets.
- Highly adept at code management practices suitable for fast paces, yet mission critical environments.
Desirable Technical Skills
Knowledge of OneTick, Vahyu, K are a solid plus. - Preference for open source ETL tools or tool-agnostic ETL processes.
- Application development experience in Java (JBoss, Apache, Spring, JDBC, JUnit) nice to have.
