HP-Lead Technical Application Specialist Job in Pasadena, California Us

Kaiser Permanente IT is looking for a highly-experienced, detail-oriented individual that can fill the role of the Application Support Lead for the Document Management Strategy (DMS) platform. A successful candidate should be able to communicate extensively with our business clients and coordinate lead activities for a mid-sized production support team (5-10 developers). The Application Support Lead will be responsible for ensuring that the daily operations within the DMS platform are running effectively and efficiently, and that any and all production and non-production issues are resolved in a timely manner. A successful candidate must be well-organized and be an excellent communicator. The DMS platform publishes and archives millions of documents annually, and includes a highly-complex, high-volume architecture that must be closely monitored 24x7x365.
In addition to previous technical experience, the candidate must have polished communication skills with the capability of presenting in front of both technical and non-technical audiences. Additionally, a successful candidate must be able to track and manage numerous issues at any one time.
This position is located at our offices in Old Town Pasadena, CA.

Essential Functions:
- Be the primary liaison between the IT teams and business clients, reporting on and providing status for any application issues that arise from day to day
- Work with fellow IT team members to design and implement process improvements for preventing and auditing production application incidents
- Report to upper management and business stakeholders on a daily and/or weekly basis
- Delegate tasks to and manage the progress on tasks assigned to other IT production support resources
- Coordinate and assign resources to perform scheduled software and hardware patches monthly
- Engage end-users to triage issues and accumulate the necessary detail to hand off to technical resources for further analysis
- Be a thought leader for creating improved system monitoring and diagnostics processes
- Monitor the health of the DMS platform (disk space usage, system uptime, software/hardware maintenance patches)
Qualifications:
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or a minimum of 4 years of equivalent work experience
- A minimum of 6 years of experience working in a support role that services end-users, either as a desktop support resource, system administrator, operations support resource or other technical support role which requires day-to-day interaction with users/clients
- A minimum of 3 years of experience leading others and delegating tasks to technical resources, either as a manager or technical lead in a web environment.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience using MS PowerPoint for creating presentation material
- Excellent communication and presentation skills

Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working as a web developer on various technologies and tools that include Java, J2ee, Webservices and XML.
- experience with reviewing and creating some small level technical design and architectural documents.
- Previous experience as a Project Manager a plus
- Experience facilitating meetings and conference calls with a large technical and non-technical audience
- Experience installing and configuring server-based software (e.g. FTP/SFTP software)
- Experience installing software patches or performing upgrades on server-side software
- Healthcare industry experience a plus
- Experience with document publishing, document archival, or document distribution and fulfillment a plus
- Customer service attitude and able to work well within a cross-functional team
