Responsibilities overview

He/She is responsible to:

Ensure that the Storage systems are in a stable state and to provide necessary initiatives to isolate, troubleshoot resolve issues.
Possess all-rounded domain knowledge for the Storage silo to provide guidance technical mentoring to Operational team.
Conduct knowledge acquirement transfer in the team to ensure Operational team have equivalent level of knowledge on the domain.
Provide a single of contact of the Storage domain for the Operational team and other IT technology silos.
Review and approve technical solutions for conformance to standards and architectural requirements.
Provide consultation assist Operational Project teams in supporting solutions.
Develop appropriate metrics to measure total system performances.
Develop relevant, repeatable criteria for assessing future problems.
Ensure that critical incidents are well managed and postmortems are followed.
Ensure adequate documentation for all best practices and Storage incident management request fulfillment processes.

Requirements

Minimum 8 - 10 years of relevant experience in managing a large scale, heterogeneous clustered Storage environment.
Must be flexible to support during weekends and on-call as per the support needs.
Customer service oriented, able to work in a dynamic and fast paced environment.
Excellent communication, interpersonal and troubleshooting skills.
In-depth, working knowledge of high-end and midrange Storage Arrays like HP XP 24k, 12k, P9500, EVA 8400, etc.
In-depth, working knowledge of inter-site, multi-fabric Storage environment (Core-Edge architecture with dual fabric per site).
In-depth, working knowledge of Brocade DCX 48k, 4024, 4100, 5480 and DWDM links (20 links of 2Gb).
In-depth, working knowledge of Networker and TSM backup technologies with cloning to remote site based on Geo Networker cluster with HP-UX Service Guard.
In-depth, working knowledge of backup infrastructure like SL8500, VTL2000, etc.
