HR Advisor - South Africa
Main Purpose of Role:
This position will provide consultancy services that deliver best practice and commercially focused HR solutions in support of the business. The successful candidate will manage an array of critical HR processes and business-based initiatives.
Major Responsibilities of the Role:
- Assist managers and employees in understanding and applying Human Resources tools in order to maximize employee performance, achieve organizational effectiveness, improve employee engagement, and ensure legal compliance.
- Build management responsibility and capability, defining what it means to successfully manage others in our organization.
- Identify and drive initiatives and activities that support the team's culture - the complex but powerful element that shapes work enjoyment, work relationships and work processes of an organization.
- Partner with Recruiting and line management to ensure the company hires top talent who meet current and future business needs.
- Drive, influence, advise and support the cultural and people aspects of organizational change
- Embed a performance management culture within the business as a means of driving business improvement.
- Implement and administer the following human resources functions: employee relations, organizational development, performance management, engagement survey initiatives, talent reviews and employee on boarding.
- Facilitate employee relations processes and perform investigative role for ER issues.
- Liaises with other HR functional groups to implement specific HR processes and transactions particularly with talent acquisition, rewards, HR services and learning and development
- Ad-hoc projects, reporting and tasks as required that will provide the successful candidate with an opportunity to work on cross-functional HR teams, working on or leading projects/programs

Knowledge, Skills, and Capabilities Required:
- Demonstrated communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Strong interpersonal, facilitation and negotiation skills.
- Ability to manage own time and workload, juggling conflicting priorities.
- Ability to effectively manage multiple regional locations in a high-touch personal way.
- Ability to develop creative solutions.
- Must have strong talent assessment skills.
- Must have excellent organizational and follow through skills.
- Must be able to work effectively under pressure.
- Must be confident in handling ambiguity and fluid situations and have an abundance of common sense and pragmatism.
Key Experiences:
- A proven track record as a generalist HR professional for about 3-5 years
- Must have an excellent understanding of employment legislation and the ability to translate this into practical solutions for a client group.
- Must be able to work with individuals at all levels in the organization and throw equal enthusiasm behind the more routine, hands-on activities as well as those requiring a higher profile.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and HR systems.
- Experience advising on Employee Relations issues.
- Demonstrate evidence of influencing and coaching skills.
Education:
- Undergraduate degree required.
