HR & Benefits Specialist Job in New York 10001, New York US

PURPOSE

Under the direction and supervision of the Senior Vice President, Human Resources and Administration the HR Benefits Specialist will oversee the health and welfare and 401 (k) benefits for all NMPA/HFA staff.  Additionally, the HR Benefits Specialist will provide HR and administrative support to the SVP HR Administration 

FUNCTIONS

Daily Functions include, but are not limited to:

Benefits Administration

•Conduct new hire benefits orientation

•Input new benefit information into ADP-HRB
 
•Prepare benefit packages for new employees

•Liaise with Fidelity, Gallagher Mutual of Omaha and Empire on employee benefit matters

•Explain COBRA process to terminating employees

•Prepare COBRA packages

•Coordinate Short Term Disability process and payments

•Manage FMLA (Family Medical Leave Act) process

•Work with Finance on Corporate and Benefit Audits

•Reconcile and pay benefit bills

•Conduct open enrollment training sessions

•Write and distribute benefit communications to all staff

•Produce annual benefit statements in partnership with Gallagher

•Work with actuaries to manage our frozen DB pension plan. Request calculations and payments

•Coordinate and implement annual Health Fair

•Coordinate semi-monthly massage visits

Compensation Process

•Prepare excel spreadsheets for Common Review of salary and bonuses
 

•Input salary actions

•Liaise with Finance to ensure coordination of increases input into ADP-HRB with payroll

•Prepare compensation notifications

•Manage Timesheet Absence Reporting Process

•Distribute digitally the weekly Kastle key reports to department heads

•Distribute semi-annual absence calendars

•Process all HR Transactions including but not limited to:

•Compensation Actions

•New Hire paperwork, promotions, terminations, title changes, etc.

•Liaise with Finance and IT on the appropriate transaction


Ad Hoc Reports

 

•Prepare all necessary reports for SVP HR Administration and Director of HR via Excel or through ADP-HRB.  Examples can be annual EEOC reports, quarterly turnover reports, compensation reports, etc.


Reward and Recognition Program

•Manage the RR program starting with solicitation of nominations through award creation

•Order all awards once recipient has made their selection

•Coordinate annual Harry Award breakfast
