Overall Purpose of Role:

 

The main purpose of this role is to provide an HR consultancy service to Tesco International Business across nine markets in both Asia and Europe. The role will work in partnership with other HR Consultants and reports to the HR Business Partner. The HR Consultant is a critical member of the team supporting the implementation of the HR strategy in the above areas ensuring that the HR function adds value to the business.

 

The HR Consultant will be the first point of contact for all HR issues and will work closely with the HRBPs to drive forward the HR agenda. Working alongside the business, the HR Consultant will help to drive and improve business performance through timely and effective HR support, advice and guidance.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

·         To provide a comprehensive operational HR service across the designated Business Units.

·         To provide a proactive internal consultancy service to business stakeholders on generalist HR and ER issues, obtaining a sound understanding of business needs and responding with professional and timely advice.

·         To manage assigned projects within the team, e.g. Values In Action, Career Management, LD.

·         To contribute to development of policies and procedures in conjunction with the HR Services Manager.

·         To build effective working relationships with the business, HR Centres of Excellence and HR Services.

·         To manage key HR lifecycle processes including salary review, promotions, bonus and performance management for the designated business units.

·         To work with the HRBPs and business leadership teams in the development and continuous support of talent management and succession planning.

·         To assist in developing, driving and maintaining employee engagement in conjunction with business leadership teams and senior HR team.

·         To support the HRBPs and business leadership teams to develop strategic resource plans.

·         To ensure internal and external recruitment processes are managed effectively in conjunction with business stakeholders and recruitment team, including managing the internal approval process.

·         To work with CFM (Commercial Finance Managers) and HR Services to ensure data accuracy in line with PL and budget.

Knowledge/Qualifications

 

Candidates need to be graduate calibre with an HR background ideally in blue chip organizations. CIPD qualification preferred.

 

Work Experience

 

·         Experience in a dynamic, fast growth environment.

·         This individual needs to have a broad understanding of HR knowledge across a number of key areas. Critical will be the need to demonstrate a sound level of knowledge in generalist HR. He/she must be able to use functional knowledge and experience to understand how to contribute to the business goals and culture.

·         An HR professional who has experience and proven ability in operational HR management / consultancy is desirable. Strength of character to "stand your ground", as well as high attention to detail are critical skills.

·         Experience gained in a consulting or professional services environment where candidates were responsible for the delivery of a full HR service to a country or product/sector stream would be preferable.

·         Experience in a consumer/marketing/customer orientated branded service or product environment such as FMCG would be advantage and thus demonstrate a sound understanding of dunnhumby's offering and client base.

·         International experience or interest is preferable.

·         Likely to have had a generalist HR career path with a desire to grow a career in HR.

·         Knowledge and experience of modern and sophisticated HR infrastructures in an environment that respects the HR function as a true business enabler.
