Open Pit Specialist –Conceptual Thinking?
With Iron Ore at 53% of WA mining turnover, in 2011 there is distinct focus on strategic development of this already buoyant part of the industry.
The availability of funding has allowed the implementation of some $mil strategic projects to go ahead. With some cutting edge techniques in open pit mining coming into the fore, specifically intensifying the links between mine planning and processing optimisation.
This group is at the forefront of such projects.
Project Focus:
- Greenfields Mine Design
- Extension Feasibility Studies
- Techniques to reduce blasting frequencies
- Transition between planning hierarchy –Short, Medium, Long
- Root Cause analysis
- You need an excess of 7 years experience in the field of open cut mine design and planning
- Emphasis on Iron Ore or Gold in Open Cut environments will be highly regarded
- B.Eng Mining/ QM
This role is a call to action for all existing Mining consultants from Senior to Principal level that want to benefit from entering the open market in the upturn of 2011
