HR Specialist / Generalist – EMEA recruitment

The Department

The Human Resources team are viewed as key business partners within the company. The team are responsible for providing a comprehensive and high quality HR service to all lines of business. The team supports an array of challenging client bases across locations: UK, Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA). The business requires advisory and specialist knowledge across the whole employment life cycle according to local markets, employment law, best practice and legislation.   The department is divided into 3 functions covering, Compensation, Benefits and HRIS, Generalist support and Recruitment.

The approach of the team is professional, open and consultative.

In this role you will partner with the generalist team in assisting with the HR offering to the business.  You will be expected to provide timely and accurate support to the HR generalist team, including, where appropriate, advice and counsel to the business on a number of HR issues.  Your core role will be to cover induction, performance management, employee relations, training and development including the educational assistance policy, maternity/paternity and family leaves, flexible working requests and any other matters which arise within the generalist spectrum.

Key Responsibilities

-   Support the HR generalist team to deliver HR services and activities in line with Moodys Policies, local legislation and the requirements of managers and clients across all EMEA offices.

-   Support the generalist team in the day to day activities such as general employee and manager queries

-   Deliver the Company induction to new joiners on a weekly basis, or as necessary. 

-   Manage the educational assistance policy and other learning and development activities as assigned to you.

-   Support the generalist by providing advice and guidance on HR processes, good work practice and the handling of "sensitive" or difficult situations as requested.

-   Facilitate grievance and disciplinary meetings as requested including producing all paperwork, scheduling, case management and representing HR.

-   Facilitate the coordination of all Statutory Questionnaires and Subject Access Requests and any other documentation collections as required and requested.

-   Work closely with colleagues on work permit, relocation and ex pat issues.

-   Compile data as requested from either internal or external resources and have the ability to analyse this data in both granular and general form.

-   Work closely with Compensation and Benefits team regarding queries / salary and benchmark information.

-   As required lead and or contribute to the rollout of HR projects and initiatives through research, project work and where appropriate the delivery of new or improved services ensuring individual contribution or delivery of project to plan, time, budget and agreed requirements.

-   Contribute to the assessment and improvement of HR policy and practice through the gathering of internal feedback, benchmarking and process improvement.

-   Carry out HR administration, monitoring and investigative activities as required to support the efficient operation of the HR team in line with its objectives.

-   Ensure Human Resource files and records are kept up to date and are current

-   Foster good relationships with Moody's NY HR team.

Qualifications

-   Graduate Calibre

-   Ideally CIPD qualified

Experience

-   Thorough knowledge of UK employment legislation

-   Familiarity with employment law/practice in Europe

-   Strong employee relations experience

-   Project management

-   Able to design and present business valued HR information, concisely and clearly.

-   Experience of working in a demanding, high calibre commercial organisation

Key Tech and Non Tech Skills

-   Well developed IT skills including Email, Word, Excel and PowerPoint

-   Peoplesoft experience
