POSITION OVERVIEW:
This position will be a Human Resources Generalist / Business Partner; working for all levels of MSCI employees in South Asia, primarily the Hong Kong, Singapore and Sydney offices.
The focus of this position will be on the following areas:
- Partner with local managers and senior MSCI executives to provide HR advice and support on employee relations, management, employee development, and other human resource issues.
- Provide advice and expertise to employees in the region regarding HR policies, processes, practices and programs.
- Develop and deliver HR programs that create value for MSCI in the region, and are coordinated with global policies and initiatives.
- Provide leadership and guidance to regional HR team members who will be reporting into this position.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Proactively advise employees and management in resolving employee relation issues, act as a confidant for employees and managers to assist them in human relations and work related issues and provide feedback to senior management concerning morale, motivation and people at risk issues and recommend solutions.
- Partner with Business for talent and performance management initiatives, adding valuable, balanced insights for employee/team development and provide ad hoc HR services as required.
- Work with the HR team and Business to continuously identify new initiatives and ways of improving work life at MSCI.
- Develop and deliver HR programs that create value for MSCI in the region, and are coordinated with global policies and initiatives.
- Partner with the Recruiting Team in the management of the recruitment selection process;
- Manage and coordinate the new hire process (offer preparation, orientation, etc.) and termination process (information to all providers and local authorities where necessary, etc).
- Manage Benefits Retirement plans, in coordination with external suppliers.
- Advise and support the year-end compensation and promotion processes in liaison with global HR team;
- Work with the Talent Management Team to provide training solutions to employees.
- Liaise and build relationships with HR colleagues globally and coordination with external providers.
- Other tasks/administration as required.
DESIRED EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- Ability to effectively work with diverse cultures in a global team; sensitivity and appreciation for diverse cultural norms/styles.
- Experience working in a global company with high expectation, senior executives, time difference challenges and has demonstrated influence and persuasion.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication skills and a proactive, credible and flexible approach.
- Organization development experience preferred.
- Well organized, thorough and detailed, with a creative approach to problem solving.
- Discretion and ability to deal with sensitive and confidential issues.
- Ability to follow through on issues, use independent judgment, provide solutions and prioritize effectively.
- Ability to work under pressure in a dynamic environment and to meet tight deadlines.
- Highly motivated, able to work independently and with initiative.
- Strong attention to detail.
- University degree in HR or related field.
- HR professional qualification is a definite plus.
- 5-7 years solid experience in HR, employee relations, organization development and compensation management.
