HVAC Shift Engineer - Fidelity Real Estate Company
The Shift Engineer provides support for the multiple critical business environments that the engineering department is responsible for. This position requires the ability to work independently with little and on occasion no direct supervision. Must support a team environment and work towards common goals and objectives for the department. Effective verbal, writing, and interpersonal skills are a must. This position will work Sunday to Thursday - 11pm - 7am but will train on the day shift.
Primary Responsibilities
- Performs all assigned preventive and remedial maintenance work on building mechanical and/or electrical systems to assure cooling, heating, and humidification requirements are met with no adverse business impact.
- Perform site inspection and data collection rounds.
- Record accurate operational supporting data within daily log
- Demonstrate the ability to monitor multiple building systems, correcting deficient performances through BAS adjustments, on-site remedial maintenance and effective emergency response actions when required
- Demonstrates the ability to function independently, team with and work collaboratively with other department staff members.
- Utilizes tools, processes, procedures, and notifies/advises superiors as appropriate to ensure the consistent flow of information and activities.
- Provide as needed 7/24 hands on and supervised engineering support for the Boston region.
- Assist with all department projects, plans and improvements.
- Support and monitor electrical/mechanical preventative and corrective maintenance activity.
- Interface with Security on emergency issues.
- Demonstrates ability to switch to standby generators and bypass UPS systems when an electrical alarm or failure occurs, consistent with procedures, communicating all actions taken through the escalation process.
- Demonstrates the ability to employ both an electrical riser and one-line diagram to locate, employ or correct faulty electrical circuits and related protective devices.
- Direct and assist as necessary, vendors/contractors performing remedial repair activities.
- Demonstrate the ability to operate fire detection and suppression systems, locate and correct trouble faults and follow proper system protection procedures when work is performed in areas covered by fire systems.
- Completes all required documentation associated with preventive maintenance, equipment operation, testing and inspections.
- Proper completion of all demand and preventative work orders as required by Maximo.
- Other site specific duties as required to meet the intent of the summary scope.
Education and Experience
- Trade License plus (3-5) years minimum of trade experience or applicable background.
- State HVAC or Electrician license is required.
- Universal EPA certification is required.
Skills and Knowledge
- Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook and Visio.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD and CMMS a plus.
