The Company
A world leading 1st tier automotive supplier are looking for an I.T Support Technician to join their expanding team.
The Role
- Log, prioritise and take ownership of IT problems using the IT help desk system.
- Provide 1st and 2nd line technical support to user base within SLA.
- Support and troubleshoot desktops, printers and all associated computer equipment and peripherals.
- Support and maintain fleet of hand-held wireless barcode scanners and printers.
- Active Directory User and Group administration.
- Exchange 2003 and Citrix PS administration.
- Operate backup routines and verify data integrity.
- Provide user support for ERP application (MFG/Pro).
- Hands-on support of wired and wireless LAN Patching and cabling.
- Creation and maintenance of appropriate documentation.
- Liaison with external support providers.
- Assist with IT projects, roll-outs and upgrades .
The Person
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft desktop OS and Office suites.
- Knowledge of Windows Server 2003.
- Strong experience of troubleshooting desktop and laptop hardware and software.
- Experience of supporting users across a variety of applications.
- Advanced troubleshooting of printers and peripherals.
- Active Directory User / Group admin.
- Knowledge of Citrix / Terminal Services environment.
- Good working knowledge of TCP/IP networking.
- Troubleshooting of network issues.Symantec Backup Exec.
- Strong experience working in technical support role.
- Good customer service and communication skills. High standard of further / higher education.
- Desirable skills include IT support in manufacturing or similar environment. Use of Spice works or similar ticketing system. Experience of virtualisation product (ESX / Hyper-V / XenServer)
