The Investment Bank's Clearinghouse Risk Team supports the trading businesses with respect to new and existing clearing-related activities by evaluating the risks posed by central counterparties and securities settlement systems. It also works closely with other dealers in the industry and through industry consortiums to develop new OTC CCP structures and overall central counterparty best practices The team is extensively relied upon firm-wide for its subject matter expertise, especially in light of the push by regulators and legislators globally to mandate OTC derivatives be centrally- cleared.
The ideal candidate must possess excellent analytical and written/verbal communication skills as well as a strong risk control mindset as specific responsibilities will include:Independently performing initial and periodic clearinghouse risk assessments and settlement system reviews which involves leading discussions with other internal functions as well as clearinghouse officials. Also review/ edit draft assessments assigned to more junior team members.Representing team on New Business Initiative working groups and providing input to support IB Risk's approvals.Communicating results of all reviews to relevant credit executives, trading businesses and legal folks which could be used to determine the firm's acceptable exposure levels and membership liabilities to these entities going forward.Serve as subject matter expert on clearinghouses in order to respond to ad-hoc business, legal, and credit executive queries on specific clearinghouses.Manage BAU team-wide efforts such as clearinghouse inventory management and portfolio-wide reviews/benchmarking.

Analytical mind (naturally inquisitive/intellectually curious)Excellent written and verbal communication skillsStrong project management and partnering skills - be able to independently manage multiple tasks and prioritiesSufficient understanding of basic market and credit risk measurement concepts.Solid experience with/understanding JPM exposure systems and internal credit review processKnowledge of the workings of and risks associated with clearinghouses and settlement systemsProduct knowledge of exchange-traded/OTC derivatives, securities and prime brokerage.
