JPMorgan's Futures and Options group is one of the largest financial futures and options brokers in the world. The Firm is a market leader in providing research, sales, execution and clearing services to clients on over 70 futures exchanges globally, offering fixed income, equity, foreign exchange and commodity related products. The Futures Options group leverages JPMorgan's global network, setting up direct exchange memberships through local offices. In line with client demand JPMorgan is constantly reviewing the list of exchanges that it offers in order to ensure that it provides clients with access to the exchanges they require.
The IB Core Processing Technology group is a solutions provider for multiple lines of business with JPMorgan, providing Business services across all asset classes. The Core Processing group is a 800+ team of dedicated technologists and home to the Futures Options Clearing Technology group providing clearing solutions to the Futures Options business. The team is also responsible for end-to-end delivery of projects, working closely with our technology partners, business stakeholders, product and finance controls.
The Futures Options group is embarking on a multi-year strategy to transform the business end to end across technology, operations and wider business teams. As part of this initiative Core Processing Technology is now commencing the Futures Options Processing Platform (FOPP) Platform Evolution program. This will cover a number of significant end-to-end programs and projects to evolve and rationalize the current technology stack inline with a Service Orientated Architecture (SOA) strategy. There will be collaboration across multiple teams through the trade lifecycle to achieve these goals and provide significant value to the business. The FOPP platform includes exchange interfaces, clearing, settlements, accounting, data management and regulatory reporting.
Role Description
The successful candidate is expected to work with the business to analyze business requirements and review / produce specifications for any new/change to technology applications
The core responsibilities of this position include:
- Understanding problems in current business workflow and understanding new business requirements
- Documenting requirements / problems and presenting them in simple, clear and concise manner
- Work with the Project Manager/Business analyst, architects and other team members to design solutions of the projects undertaken.
- Participate in and work on all aspects of the technical design specification phase of projects. Ensure solutions are defined for all requirements, solutions are agreed to by the business line and other IT teams, options are provided for large or complicated changes and all functional design is documented and delivered to an exceptional quality and is consistent across deliveries.
- Provide subject matter expertise to support development testing of project deliverables and validation of quality assurance.
- Coding testing for developed applications / solutions.
Skills
Essential Competencies:
- Strong knowledge of AS400 at least 5 years experience on AS400 (RPGLE / CLLE / SQL400).
- At least 2 years of experience of SunGard's Stream GMI application.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to work on their own and with a distributed team i.e. physically located in other regions
- Knowledgeable of SDLC, data analysis and structured analysis and design methods.
- Experience in the investment banking FO business from an IT perspective
- Ability to understand and analyse business processes workflows with the objective of providing recommendations for the best use of technology to improve these
- Experience with QA procedures
- Experience with documentation / issues tracking tools
Desirable Competencies:
- Experience of Clear vision applications
