Impact Analysis Business Analyst
Role Description:
We are looking for a senior, hands-on, IA (Impact Analysis) Analyst with demonstrable background in server-side testing, ideally in a finance/investment bank environment.
The role is to own and organise the Impact Analysis phase of our client’s SDLC, aiming to take a release candidate through the final stages of Testing and obtain our business stakeholders signoff in order for the release to go live.
Role summary:
- Coordination with IT development / BAs / functional testing and Environment management teams as well as the Quant team in order to understand the scope and details of the changes (both functional and non-functional)
- Produce the corresponding IA test strategy and test plan and get stakeholders signoff on those
- Coordination with downstream IT teams in order to ensure the relevant environments are available in order to facilitate stakeholders testing
- Provide detail impact and root cause analysis of number changes
- Coordination and chasing of IT Dev and Quant teams in order to ensure any bug found in the IA phase is properly understood, analysed and fixed if deemed necessary
- Provide daily IA key metrics for stakeholders and IT senior management
- Organise and chair daily IA walkthrough meetings with stakeholders
- Liaise with all signoffees in order to ensure they actually provide signoffs by the expected deadline.
- Off-cycle, work with all the relevant parties in order to improve the streamline the IA process.
Experience Required:
Mandatory requirements
- Strong experience in manual testing of complex systems involving multiple feeds, transformations, analytical computations
- High degree of curiosity around the subject matter, pro-active, keen to ensure good quality end result
- Testing feeds by validating expected outputs against known inputs, being comfortable analysing complicated data structures
- Proven experience working with Oracle databases, writing advanced SQL
- With large amounts of data, in a structured manner, able to form meaningful conclusions
- Understand counterparty credit risk exposure methodology including impact of netting and collateral
- Strong knowledge of Interest Rates / Credit derivatives / Equities covering pricing, capture, risk management and P L
- Developing test strategies for applications under test, working in structured and transparent manner
- Strong understanding of test principles and the SDLC
- Have strong analytical and numerical skills and be structured and systematic in their approach
- Well-developed oral and written communication skills

Desirable skills/experience
- 3- 5 years’ experience of manual or automated testing of IT systems in a technical server side environment
- Relevant investment bank business experience and knowledge of Credit / Counterparty risk analytics systems (CVA, RWA, Basel 3….) and the control frameworks required to support
- Experience working in an agile and iterative environment, using test driven development and similar practices
- Appreciation of IT system architecture
