IMPLEMENTATION MANAGER – LDI Mandates
The Client Implementation Team provides a dedicated end-to-end client onboarding and change management service to Institutional client business, supporting the full range of product structures offered by the company. The team is responsible for co-ordinating the take-on/mandate change related tasks and activities across the business to ensure that mandates are implemented in line with the client/consultant’s funding objective. Due to the continued growth of the business – particularly in the LDI/Solutions space - and the company's international expansion, there is a need to grow the team to support the business’ needs.
This role will have a primary focus on LDI mandates, requiring a strong technical understanding of these strategies and the regulatory environment, as well as the operational mechanics of trading OTC instruments. Whilst a primary focus, however, the successful employee will also manage client work spanning other strategies (e.g. passive equity, active credit), therefore a candidate with ‘multi-competent’ abilities is required for this dynamic role.
Responsibilities include:
- Project manage from start to end, all aspects of pooled and segregated Institutional Business client change, including asset allocation and mandate changes as well as and new client take-on activity
- Work proactively with key business areas to produce and provide final quality checks on legal documentation, IMAs, Side Letters etc in line with client requirements
- Be instrumental in the management and agreement of service level standards and reporting requirements, for new and existing complex/non complex products/mandates, both UK and International
- Create and maintain strong working relationships across key business area’s such as Legal, Compliance, Fund Management, Trade Support, Back and Middle Office Operations
- Provide high level technical support to the Client Relationship Management Team, demonstrating an understanding of a clients decision making process and long term objectives. Be able to answer complex queries relevant to strategic client change
- Maintain and where applicable, implement formal procedures which are required to support a risk free and regulatory compliant environment
- Work in conjunction with the product specialists on the launch on new products to define regulatory and product specific service requirements
- Where expertise and guidance is required, attend meetings and conference calls to discuss and report upon client implementation plans and progress
- Communicate effectively by holding regular project management meeting sessions with key stakeholders in order to monitor and manage progress relevant to client change activity
- Take an active role in training team members and the wider business and where required, run and present larger training sessions
Suitable candidates will have:
- Strong LDI and derivatives knowledge, including an understanding of developments in the regulatory environment, such as central clearing and the impact on client investments.
- A strong academic background, and ideally have completed the IMC exams
- Experience within the investment management industry including providing an exceptional level of client service
- Demonstrable track record of dealing with external clients and building significant relationships with external contacts up to and including senior levels
- Experience of writing procedures and drafting legal documentation.
- Strong overall Investment knowledge including an understanding of the different investment vehicle options
- Knowledge of current investment, market and economic issues
- Experience of working within the pensions industry
- Knowledge/ experience of working within Compliance/Legal Dept
- Experience of working with derivatives based solutions
