Purpose of the role:
A customer facing product expert who will work directly with Relationship Managers and customers to increase sales of the Gateway products. Typically this role will be involved in the more demanding and complicated propositions for our customers.
Key role deliverables:
• Working alongside Relationship Management, provide pre-sales Gateway product expertise tailored to the needs of the customers, as defined by the Sales or Account Manager
• Act as an internal subject matter expert in relation to Gateway products
• Provide a seamless handoff between the pre and post sales service ensuring the customer is “live” within agreed timescales improving the time to revenue
• Undertake Customer presentations, evaluation of their requirements
• Contribute to tender responses for new and renegotiated business.
• Be the key contact point for Customers and their external system suppliers for the purpose of discussing and taking forward internally proposals for improvements to the Gateway products
• Convert Gateway leads into Sales in conjunction with the Sales managers
• Ensure merchant solutions comply to internal and Card Scheme standards (e.g PCI DSS) to minimise risks and maximise merchant service income,

Experience: Relevant experience for the role
• Technical background with good understanding of eCommerce card payments
• Card acquiring product knowledge
• Strong customer orientation and ability to spot commercial opportunities
• Project Management skills
• Track record of dealing with major corporate customers at senior /executive level
Other Significant Role Requirements:
• Effective at communicating and presenting formally at senior / executive level within major companies.
• Collaborating with other areas of company, such as Business Development, Operations and IT
• When consultancy is required a great deal of technical and product knowledge must be delivered clearly whilst ensuring that the merchant’s requirements are fully understood and all relevant information is gathered.
• To act as an internal point of referral and undertake team training as required
• A good understanding of the wider cards business is essential, including card acquisition.
• The ability to learn quickly in this fast moving environment.
• Self motivated and able to work under their own initiative
Scope of Role:
• Front line specialist sales activity in association with sales and account managers.
• Consultancy services for merchants in relation to Retailer Solutions’ Gateway propositions.
• The jobholder will have an ongoing portfolio of ‘projects’ to deliver to live operation – working in cooperation with technical integration across the global sales and account management teams.
Technical Knowledge:
• This is a technical role that requires a strong understanding of eCommerce Gateway products and the internet based technology on which they operate, such as XML and HTML
• The individual will be required to develop in-depth knowledge of Retailer Solutions’ gateway products, the product functionality and their implementation processes.
