In House Legal Counsel recruitment
Role Overview:
To provide legal support for a variety of non-traditional insurance and reinsurance transactions ( including structured (re)insurance and retrocession, life and health financing covers , longevity solutions , run-off covers , securitizations , parametric products etc ) and portfolio transfers , primarily in the UK but including some business in Continental Europe , Asia and Africa.
Lead legal workstream for (re)insurance transactions, including instruction and management of outside counsel, structuring support, advice on legal and regulatory issues, and drafting, review and negotiation of legal documentation. Provide legal input and analysis for internal referrals/approvals and participate in approval meetings as needed. Support ad hoc internal projects. Coordinate with lawyers in relevant regional teams, Contracts Wording and Claims as needed.
Experience we are looking for:
• Qualified UK lawyer
• 3-6 years' experience, preferably with a leading law firm or a global (re)insurer
• Knowledge of (re)insurance principles/practices as well as legal and regulatory environment, particularly in the life health arena
• Pension experience helpful but not required (will also consider candidates with MA experience, although MA transactions are generally outside scope of this position)
• English-speaking; other languages (particularly French, Italian, Spanish and/or German) a plus
