The Industrial Engineer is responsible for the improvement and standardization of work flow, productivity standards and tracking. Warehouse management system (WMS) implementation expert responsible for maintaining the system set up and processes. Central support resource for field operations regarding productivity improvement projects WMS.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Standardization of workflow, productivity requirements and tracking
- Research, design, develop, and implements processes to improve plant production, lower costs, and improve safety quality, through the application of Lean and other Industrial Engineering concepts.
- Study operations sequence and material flow to determine worker functions, responsibilities and optimize productivity.
- Design and implement information systems to meet operational needs and improve productivity
- Establish programs of work measurement in order to guarantee fulfillment of targets and deadlines
- Provide hands on support to implement site operational improvements
- Communicate with field regarding systems changes and improvements
- Provide system support to the field operations including
- Be an expert on the Warehouse Management System (WMS) software and hardware
-Training of new employees on WMS
-Work with vendors and operations management to resolve system issues
-System set up and basic configuration changes
-Define future system enhancement requirements
- Track technology trends in the industry
- Serve as project leader for warehouse optimization projects including shutdowns, new facility start ups and building moves
Requirements:
- BS in Industrial Engineering, Computer Science, Logistics or related field
- 3-5 years of experience required
- SAP or other WMS experience required
- Advanced Excel and Access skills
- Project management experience a plus
- Lean/ Six Sigma trained
- Operationally focused with good communications skills
- Willingness to travel up to 50%
