Information Security Specialist, Lead

The Team Lead will perform both a qualitative and quantitative risk assessment and provide guidance and recommendations to NBC. The team lead will also perform the following: · Provides day to day management/leadership of the Risk Management team. · Interprets and implements the strategic direction provided by the NBC Chief, Compliance Branch. · Develops and implements program policies · Enforces resource management processes · Integrates an organization-wide risk management program that starts with managing information system-related security risks that is a complex, multifaceted undertaking that requires the involvement of the entire organization-from senior leaders providing the strategic vision and top-level goals and objectives for the organization, to mid-level leaders planning and managing projects, to individuals on the front lines developing, implementing, and operating the systems supporting the organization's core missions and business processes, according to NIST 800-37 Rev 1. · Review and understand the Risk Management Plan. · Be vocal/visible advocates for risk management activities. · Participate in the risk identification and analysis processes. · Compile updates to project risks from Project Team Members. · Complete risk management activities as assigned. · Assign resources as necessary to effectively control project risks. EDUCATION EXPERIENCE: Typically requires a bachelors degree or equivalent and seven to nine years of related experience. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Normal demands associated with an office environment. Ability to work on computer for long periods, and communicate with individuals by telephone, email and face to face. Some travel may be required.
