Information Systems Specialist – Investments Technology Global Strategy recruitment
The candidate for this position will be a member of the US Investments Technology Global Strategy Team, based in Morristown NJ. This individual will conduct Business Analysis and Project Management on projects managed by the Global Strategy team for the Europe, MEASA, Asia, and Latin America regions they work with. The person will be well versed in Investments business (primarily fixed income) and technology, as well as the life of a trade from origination onwards.
The candidate will review, analyze, and create detailed documentation of business systems and user needs, including workflows, program functions, and steps required to develop or modify computer programs and processes in other areas of the Investment Technology organization.
Responsibilities include:
- Prepare detailed requirement specification documentation with use cases, test plans, and other documents for both Investments Technology and their partner teams
- Relationship management with business partners and technology colleagues across US and non-US regions
- Plan responsibilities, both direct and matrixed, with a heavy focus on typical plan role (business requirements gathering, analysis, user test coordination, planning, and execution)
- Ensure all solutions adhere to the Investments Technology vision and overall strategy and architecture, standards and methodologies.
- Must be able manage global project demand and global project portfolio
- Defines, develops and implements quality assurance practices and procedures, end user test plans and other QA assessments. Works with other teams to conduct testing.
Job Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in an investment IT, asset management IT, or investments banking/brokerage IT organization
- 5+ years of solid business analysis and project mgmt. experience within Investments Application Development, spanning front/middle/back office. Experience with in house developed systems as well as vendor products, such as Charles River, PAM, Yieldbook, etc.
- 5+ years of solid experience with fixed income securities (Corporates, Govt’s, Short Terms, Structured Finance etc.) and exposure to fixed income and equity derivatives
- Must have Global experience and be able to demonstrate skills working in a virtual environment
- Demonstrated project management skills include project planning/tracking, scope management, project financials, etc.
- Must be well versed in formal SDLC methodologies (e.g. waterfall, agile, lean)
- Strong inter-personal, presentation and problem-solving skills
- Strong written and verbal English communication skills
- The ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a high pressure environment
- The ability to be results-oriented, to pick up projects mid-stream, be a self-starter and requires minimal supervision
- B.S. in Computer Science, CIS, MIS or the equivalent; MS or MBA desired;
- PMP certification is a plus.
