A leading supplier of one of the most widely used trading systems in investment banking is looking to recruit an infrastructure and network support engineer to join their team in London. Their class leading systems are used by a variety of financial organisations including, banks, hedge funds, brokerages and proprietary trading houses and they have gone from strength to strength in recent years.
You will have a broad range of responsibilities and be a vital part of the technology team in London. Your duties as an Infrastructure and network engineer - financial services, CCNP, WAN, VPLS, VMware, Redhat, Linux - will include:
* Responding to network support requests from clients
* Deploy, monitor and maintain global datacentre technology
* Analyse network connectivity issues and implement solutions and improvements
* Work with clients and exchanges to coordinate the design, deployment and implementation of network and infrastructure technology
My client has been in business for 10 years now and has reached the point of having an established client base but is still very much moving at a rapid rate of expansion. This role has come about due to the need for extra resources in the network and infrastructure department and you will quickly become a valued member of the team.
To be considered for the role of Infrastructure and network engineer - financial services, CCNP, WAN, VPLS, VMware, Redhat, Linux - you must have the following skills and experience:
* Networking skills and experience to CCNP level - ideally you will be certified
* RedHat Linux installation and administration
* High availability and redundant infrastructure technology exposure - e.g DELL, HP, SAN storage
* Global WAN / VPLS network design and deployment
* Experience with network protocols - OSPF, BGP
* VMware experience
* Experience supporting various electronic exchanges e.g Liffe, Eurex, LSE, Euronext, CME or ICE
