Infrastructure Architect

The Systems Engineer is responsible for the analysis, design and support of software and/or hardware solutions that meet the business needs of the customer. The primary area of focus will be infrastructure client and data center technology solutions. The position will work across technology domains and groups to ensure the proposed architecture is aligned to support the strategic direction of the company. The candidate must have a mature mix of practical infrastructure needs analysis and future technology optimism to define realistic approaches to technology insertion. The individual must have the ability to work with and lead teams consisting of project management, systems engineers, business analysts, technical resources, process leads, and system users to ensure the effective and efficient delivery of business process enhancements.

Performs technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems. Analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal. Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints. Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.

Basic Qualifications: 

9 Years with Bachelors in Science; 7 Years with Masters; 4 Years with PhD.

Preferred Qualifications: 

•Ability to perform technology and security assessments of mobile technologies 
• Operating Systems: Blackberry QNX, Windows Phone, Apple iOS, Android, Symbian
•Policy Enforcement 
• Security and Compliance: authentication, encryption, certificate management, mobile VPN 
• Containerization: encryption at rest, device wipe, data leakage, virtualization 
• Software Distribution: manage enterprise applications, push/pull provisioning
• Ability to perform technology forecasting by scanning technology on a regular basis and performing technical research to formulate technology strategies
• Possess a wide breadth and depth of information technology experience within the infrastructure domain including servers, storage, networking (wired wireless), security, middleware, virtualization, end user devices and other technologies
• Identify and implement solutions to broad, complex, and critical customer enhancement challenges and issues using a high degree of insight, research, and analytical skills, to develop new or enhanced methods and techniques to resolve problems.
• Contribute to the overall planning of projects by recommending approaches, identifying resources, and developing timelines. Leverage lifecycle implementation experience to anticipate changes required in project plans and processes. Effectively communicate issues and alternative solutions. Takes initiative to achieve valued-added results and improve upon solutions offered.
• Lead small work teams (2-6 professionals) on various sized projects. Manage project scope and customer expectations. Plan and organize the work of the team and ensure that accepted project methodology, techniques, tools and solutions are being followed. Monitor and report on project status and determines, monitors, and reports on project status.
• Develop and foster collaborative working relationships with the customer, project managers and team members. Ensure the successful implementation of assigned projects through the entire project lifecycle. Deliver quality products on time and within budget.
• Ability to interpret technology and market trends as a foundation for technology and product roadmaps
• Possess strong interpersonal and facilitation skills
• Possess strong technical writing skills
