Infrastructure Project Manager
About the Role
Seeking an accomplished Technical Project Manager to join the well established and respected Enterprise Program Delivery team within Macquarie's Technology Group.
This role will specifically be responsible for the transformation of all Storage Area Network (SAN) infrastructure from the legacy environment to a new managed service over a 2 year period.
The successful candidate will have proven involvement in whole project lifecycle including but not limited to:
- Development and Documentation of Project Definition, Project Plans and technical requirements
- Development of succinct and compelling business cases
- Conduct a thorough risk assessment and ongoing risk management throughout the project
- Prepare concise project reporting throughout the project lifecycle for Stakeholders and Line Management
- Manage business and technology stakeholders and be proactive with communication.
- Provide Team Leadership to project participants
- Ensure all completion milestones are achieved
- Manage post project reviews.
About You
To be considered for this role you will have:
- Significant Project Management experience, ideally within IT infrastructure services e.g. Windows, UNIX, Networks, Desktop, etc.
- Extensive technical knowledge in one or more of the following areas, either as a hand-on engineer or manager of technical teams: Enterprise Storage, UNIX/Linux, Wintel/Citrix, Networks, etc.
- Excellent communication skills - will be dealing with vendors, presenting to management, liaising with internal clients, coordinating technical staff etc. so they must be able to communicate effectively to CxO level
- Ability to manage expectations - will need to understand the requirements of clients, expectations of project sponsors and the capabilities of technical staff and to manage these competing drivers to deliver a balanced solution
- Ownership, pro-activity drive - must take ownership for the success of the project, pro-actively identifying impediments addressing them, motivating the team resolving issues which impede their delivery i.e. have the ability to proactively navigate conflict and changing priorities
- Be open to after-hours and weekend work, and possibly travel
- Finance industry experience would be an advantage.

The ETD team develops and supports a full array of infrastructure solutions such as voice data networks, server platforms, workplace solutions, operating systems, databases, desktops and storage.
