Infrastructure Specialist – Low Latency / Co

Description 
The EMEA Marketlinks team is a dynamic team responsible for the management of all exchange connections across Europe for the Equities IT Group. The Equities trading systems are developed purely in-house, and support a wide range of products, including traditional Manual trading, Algorithmic trading, Direct Market Access and Proprietary trading. All of these systems have a fundamental dependence on market side infrastructure for more than 20 different trading venues. The marketlinks team ensure the infrastructure is able to support the current and future demands, manage the delivery of new venues on behalf of the business and coordinate exchange infrastructure and software upgrades.


You will be expected to:

  • Make key strategic decisions on the design of the network architecture
  • Prioritise delivery schedule based on business requirements
  • Coordinate the deployment of all server hardware
  • Be single contact point for the business and stakeholders
  • Educate support infrastructure teams on the environment

      Co-location environments are typically the reserve of low latency trading hardware and software. The successful candidate will have an understanding of low latency technologies, and experience working with exchanges in delivering collocation environment. They will be technically strong in Unix and networking.
      The team is an integral part of a high energy front-office environment, interacting daily with traders. The successful candidate will need to be highly committed, and be able to build very close working relationships with the business, support teams plus network design and implementation teams.  They will have a strong focus on ownership of tasks and commitment to completing them in a timely way.

      Requirements:

    • Strong Unix Skills (especially Linux)
    • Strong Network Skills
    • Experience working with exchanges - managing trading and market data infrastructures  

        Useful skills:

      • Experience working for low latency HVDMA or Algorithmic trading desks
