Institutional Portfolio Manager
Franklin Templeton Real Asset Advisors (FTRAA) is an investment platform within Franklin Templeton Investments that specializes in the management of global real estate and infrastructure investments. Established in 1984, we manage over $4.0 billion in a range of global private equity real asset multi-manager products and global real estate and infrastructure securities portfolios.
We are currently looking for an Institutional Portfolio Manager to join the FTRAA team at headquarter location in New York.
Reporting to the Management Committee of FTRAA, the Institutional Portfolio Manager (IPM) is responsible for communicating FTRAA’s investment philosophy, process and current strategy. As a member of the investment team, the IPM meets with clients, prospects, and/or intermediaries to explain the investment philosophy, process, and performance of specific investment products; and to provide updates on FTRAA’s investment outlook.
The IPM will serve as an integrated member of the investment management organization, with a focus on partnership with key distribution partners. The IPM will be a principal conduit to provide perspective and understanding regarding FTRAA’s private and public real estate and infrastructure products to a broad range of internal and external constituencies. Additionally, the IPM will focus on providing the investment management organization with market based perspectives and insights.
In addition, the IPM will be contributing to specific projects or analysis as directed by the Management Committee.
The ideal candidate for the Institutional Portfolio Manager role will have long term experience and a solid understanding of the alternative investment industry, including real estate, infrastructure and real resources.
We are seeking candidates with the following qualifications:
- Minimum 10 years of industry experience, including experience as a Research Analyst or Portfolio Manager
- BA Required, MBA or advanced degree in related field, or CFA strongly preferred
- Strong organizational skills and teamwork capabilities
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects within expected timeframe parameters.
- Effective relationship management skills and demonstrated credibility with investment teams and distribution teams.
- Ability to develop and maintain positive relationships with external industry contacts
- Ability to support business development and client retention efforts
- Demonstrated knowledge of global capital markets, and various alternative asset classes
- Strong understanding of the alternative investment industry, including real estate and infrastructure and real resources
- Demonstrated knowledge of private and public investment vehicles and pricing structures
- Ability to articulate all facets of the investment process and strategy on behalf of investment team.
- Ability to effectively deliver presentations on complex financial and economic topics to a broad audience
- Demonstrated knowledge of distribution channels
- Ability to analyze and effectively present performance results
- Experience and familiarity with the latest risk management and portfolio construction tools and methodologies
- Familiarity with the portfolio analytical tools
- Ability and willingness to travel
