Position Summary:
Oversees the Design of Instruction for Custom Product Development. Maintains knowledge of ID trends and developments and understands how evolving technologies and trends should impact design of instruction. Develops design standards for content across delivery formats. Ensures products developed have sound instructional design, structure, reinforcement and the ability to guarantee human learning and deliver knowledge of results. Develops course outlines and objectives, reviews content for adherence to course objectives and design standards, oversees the development of interactive questions and exercises based on course objectives, and develops course competency test banks.
Requirements of Position (Education, Knowledge/Skills):
PhD in Instructional Design/Development, Psychology, Education, or related field. Three to five years of experience in job/task analysis and course development using Instructional Systems Development (ISD) methodology. Demonstrated ability in training and managing people and project. Successful experience in developing training objectives, training courses, quizzes and tests, multimedia materials, and Computer Based Training (CBT) is required.
Essential Job Tasks:
a) Design of Instruction.
b) Training and managing people and projects.
c) Identifying learning needs and training outcomes.
d) Writing Outlines and Objectives.
e) Writing/editing of course material, interactive exercises, embedded questions, course and module descriptions, course atlas and indexes, course hypertext, and course test banks which reflect stated course objectives
f) Providing quality control checks and balances of all products and educating all production staff on ID standards and quality standards
g) Recommending improvements to design of instruction as technology evolves
h) Directing contract and staff writers, multimedia designers, and design developers
i) Presenting ID philosophy to staff, clients and potential clients.
