Insurance Supervision
Our client is looking to expand their insurance supervision team. This is an excellent opportunity for an Associate Director to join a growing regulatory authority body who is looking to expand their Insurance supervision team. Your responsibilities will include working closely with Insurance and prudential institutions (life and non life) and implement risk mitigation programmes and strategies.
As part of this role, you will:
- Ensure ongoing supervision of authorized insurance institutions.
- Identify regulatory risks and manage the implementation of risk mitigation programmes such as Solvency II.
- Present recommendations to the MD and regulatory body for supervision issues and policy matters.
- Ensure that the regulatory authority remains at the forefront of insurance regulatory changes globally.
- Manage senior associates and ensure that they are supervised accordingly and they are trained and developed to grow within the organisation.
The candidate will enjoy working in a relatively flat structure and with a clear line of progression.
Our client will look to assess candidates with a strong background within the insurance regulatory space. With experience ideally gained within a regulatory body such as FSA, Bank of England, Prudential Regulatory Authority or any equivalent regulatory body.
The successful candidate should hold a Degree in either finance, Insurance, actuarial or equivalent (e.g. professional Accountancy Qualification). Candidates with MBAs are encouraged to apply.
You should have a minimum of 10 years relevant working experience, supervising and authorizing reinsurers as well as retail and commercial insurance institutions. Candidates from a consulting background with Insurance experience may also be considered. You should have a strong analytical and client mindset as well as appreciation of the business issues.
You should be a good team leader and possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills. You should also be computer literate with working knowledge of MS office applications
Preference will be given to candidates who have previous experience within the GCC and to those who are fluent in Arabic.
