The Client
Our Client is a large well established bank, located in Dublin.
The Challenge
The role of Internal Audit is to assess the adequacy, effectiveness and sustainability of a Group's governance, risk management and control infrastructure which supports management in the achievement of approved strategic and operational objectives.
As Manager within Internal Audit your role will be to
- Maintain a comprehensive knowledge of audit methodology standards and processes to enable them to conduct audits;
- Conduct and oversee complete audits which includes raising issues relating to the adequacy and effectiveness of internal control environments;
- Finalise audit reports and Board summaries to ensure relevance and accuracy of issues raised;
- Manage the resolution of agreed exceptions with the business within agreed timetables and that escalated issues are resolved appropriately;
- Assist in the preparation of Risk Based audit plans and programs of work to support the delivery of an audit opinion to the board;
- Organise, develop, motivate and coach a team of people to enable the achievement of the team’s objectives.
The Candidate
A successful Internal Audit Manager will need to demonstrate a significant understanding of:
- Regulatory matters relating to lending, and/or knowledge and experience of Retail Banking and understanding of retail lending and deposits practices and knowledge of the primary lending and deposits products and services;
- Experience of leading and motivating highly effective teams to achieve challenging outcomes and business results;
- Proven ability to deal with senior executives/management and build effective relationships without compromising independence; and
- Application of internal audit methodology in the independent assessment of the risk management and control processes, as well as how to review and advise on their continuous improvement.
- Accounting qualification ACA, ACCA or CIMA or candidates undergoing these exams with substantial audit experience, or retail banking experience.
