This role is different to most banking internal audit positions in that you will operate in a quality assurance function tasked with oversight for the whole of internal audit within the organisation. In this way you will work in diverse areas of the business and gain a rare broad perspective of all operations and activities. Quality assurance in internal audit will also involve you in major change activities, giving you the opportunity to influence the direction in which audit develops.

There will be a training aspect to this role as well, so some experience in having devised and delivered training programmes will also be an advantage and clearly, you should enjoy improving others and imparting your expertise.

In order to audit the auditors, you will need to demonstrate a high level of experience in risk based auditing, especially within financial services and preferably within large, complex firms with highly developed methodologies. You will be looked to for guidance and be a source of knowledge and best practice. Your success in the role will be in large part down to your communication style – knowing how best to improve standards without rubbing experienced professional up the wrong way!

This global role will naturally require an element of international travel so some flexibility in this regard will be necessary.
