Internal Auditor – Midlands recruitment

They provide assurance to the Audit Committee that the business is operating in a controlled and ethical manner, meeting all legal and regulatory requirements. As an Internal Auditor, you will be a key member of a dedicated and highly professional team. Assigned a set of audits to be delivered within the fiscal year, each with its own KPIs, you’ll report audit results and the resulting KPIs on a quarterly basis. You will lead certain audits, and support lead auditors on others.

Taking a thorough and proactive approach, from initial planning through to reporting, you will present the ‘big picture’ impact based on your analysis. You’ll be expected to constructively challenge senior managers and directors on risks and control issues, provide value adding, pragmatic solutions to improve processes and controls, and agree action plans to mitigate issues. It’s vital that you network and liaise with senior managers across the business, to facilitate knowledge sharing. Participating in team meetings, audit updates and technical training courses, you’ll enjoy the opportunity to gain valuable knowledge and experience, and make an important contribution to the business, whilst developing the skills needed to progress to more senior roles.

Candidate Profile

Qualified to degree level, together with a recognised professional accounting qualification, you must also have proven post-qualification experience. Ideally, you’ll have experience of internal or external audit to an advanced level. You’ll be expected to demonstrate evidence of acting with integrity, and supporting new business initiatives. Excellent knowledge of best practice governance, risk management and compliance is essential. You should be a logical thinker, with a proactive and creative approach to problem solving. You’ll also need excellent spoken and written communication skills, and the potential to influence decisions at all levels, and really make a difference to our business. Please note that regional and international travel will be required in this role.
