Internal Auditors
We are currently recruiting for a number of Internal Audit temporary jobs posts for various North Manchester local government departments. These jobs are at various levels from Auditor to Senior Auditor and are covering for both long term illness maternity leave.
These jobs key purpose and responsibilities are to delivering internal audits for specific Directorates and to ensure that each audit is completed in line with agreed performance standards and the Code of Practice for Internal Audit. The senior Audit role will deputises for the Assistant Manager when required.
Core duties for the Audit jobs are to prepare and undertake risk-based audits, identify risks, issues and dependencies associated with the Council’s systems, processes and formal arrangements with third parties. Ensure plans are regularly reviewed to reflect up-to-date risks, and ensure the Audit Plan includes appropriate provision for items such as unplanned work requested by Directorates, eg: following-up previous audit reports, and investigate specific project led audits such as fraud, irregularity investigations etc.
You will be preparing clear reports and discussing finding with management, and following up on the implementation of recommendations. Provide advice on financial risk and management controls, especially in areas of systems or process change. You will be continually reviewing the policy procedures and schemes of delegation, including Financial Regulations and Procurement Standing Orders.
The ideal candidate will have strong audit experience gained in either operational or financial audit, and in the Senior Audit jobs you will have previous team management experience. You must have excellent report writing skills and be experienced in the use of financial systems and excel.
