Internal Communication Associate (12 month max term contract)
The Banking and Financial Services Group (BFS) is Macquarie's retail bank and provides a diverse range of banking and wealth management products and services to financial advisers, stockbrokers, mortgage brokers, professional service industries and direct to the end customer.
BFS has an opportunity for a junior Internal Communication Associate to join its Internal Communication team on a 12 month contract to support the delivery of communication to the business.
Reporting to the Head of Internal Communication, this role is for a tertiary-qualified proactive communication enthusiast with a variety of skills to support internal comms channels including: sound writing ability, online content management, graphic design and basic video production. This role would suit someone with a creative flair who thrives in a fast paced environment and enjoys working as part of a team. This person needs to be a safe pair of hands for the wider team and someone who is able to proactively solve problems or challenges as they arise.
Some of your responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
- Supporting the senior team members with the execution of their business communication channels
- Using your creativity to deliver engaging newsletters and presentations in accordance with the BFS internal communication strategy
- Working closely with the team to provide communication support on project and product communication and events
- Using basic filming and video editing equipment to produce engaging video updates for teams
- Proactively seek out news for the BFS-wide and divisional internal communication channels
To be successful in this role you will be a proactive self-starter who is hands-on and likes to explore ways to improve communication to the business. Your primary stakeholders will be the internal communication team and wider corporate communications colleagues.
To be successful in this role, you will also have:
- Aptitude for online publishing and experience working with a CMS (such as Vignette), graphic design experience (Adobe Photoshop or InDesign) and basic video editing skills. Formal skills in these areas are not essential but will be highly regarded
- Some experience in a similar communications role working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
- Passion for writing and strong attention to detail
- A flexible approach and the ablility to learn new skills quickly
- The confidence to ask for help or to escalate an issue along with a proactive attitude and a solution focused mindset
- Sound problem solving ability
- Strong attention to detail and a willingness to take on a variety of exciting and not-so-exciting tasks
- Willingness to roll up your sleeves to get the task done
- Strong sense of team, natural desire to help others and a good work ethic
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and a professional, driven and enthusiastic nature
