Morgan Stanley is looking for an experienced product controller to join the Equity Financing Product (EFP) controller group. The EFP business houses the Firm's prime brokerage and financing swaps businesses.
The Prime Brokerage (PB) business offers a collection of services to hedge funds asset managers. These include trade execution and settlement, financing and stock lending, custody of assets, reporting (including portfolio analytics and risk management) and setting up of their company (infrastructure and technology). These services generate individual revenue streams from margin interest, stock lending, re-hypothecation and transaction fees.
Position overview:
The International Prime Brokerage (IPB) Product Control team is looking for a senior product controller, operating at senior manager or equivalent level. Key areas of responsibility for the successful candidate are:
• Responsibility for books and records for PB business for EMEA and Asia
• Reviewing and signing off the daily IPB PL, balances and spread movements, including hedging exposures and legal entity reporting
• Key point of contact for the Business Unit
• Presentation of the weekly analytics to the Business Unit
• Substantiation of the month end balance sheet and revenue certification
• Analytical review of the key financial metrics of the business
• Maintaining, improving and establishing controls around all aspects of the business
• Leveraging relationships with other global teams to deliver for the Business and Finance
Skills Required
• Qualified ACA, CIMA or ACCA with strong academic background
• Prime Brokerage knowledge and experience
• Previous product control experience within an investment bank
• Experience of managing teams
• Strong control awareness with high attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to prioritise work effectively, manage conflicting requirements and delivering to deadlines
• Ability to identify issues and drive through to resolution
• Proactive and self motivated individual with a desire to learn
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Confident, clear and concise communication skills.
