International Risk – Regulatory Policy Manager EMEA – ED
- Departmental Description
Global Regulatory Strategy Policy have teams in the US and London. They support all lines of business (LoBs), and work closely with colleagues in Regulatory Developments, Finance/Controllers, Government Relations, Legal Compliance and the businesses, in formulating and implementing our engagement strategy with regulators, trade bodies and other policy makers.
Role Responsibilities
1. Identifying and assessing regulatory policy initiatives which can affect the firm's financial and risk management activities. A broad range of topics are covered with the primary focus on prudential policy driven by G20, Basel, European Union and Member States, US and home regulators (e.g. PRA) such as:
· Macro prudential issues
· Recovery and Resolution
· Capital requirements directive (CRD 4)
· Bank structure (Vickers, Liikanen)
· Capitalisation of CCPs
2. Developing the firm's strategic responses, including comment letters/ position advocacy
· Partnering with colleagues to develop and advocate the firm's position on proposed changes.
· Working with industry trade associations and key stakeholders both in the UK and in Brussels for example:
o AFME/BBA Working groups for components of CRD, Shadow Banking, and Credit Rating Agencies
o Working with ISDA on CVA capital charges, CCPs and the fundamental review of the trading book
3. Increasing awareness across LoBs of regulatory risk issues and escalating to senior management key risk issues and impacts
4. Assisting the team to develop an improved governance framework around EMEA Regulatory Reform
5. Acting as an ambassador for the firm externally
