International Tax Manager
My client is a leading professional services firm with a global reputation for excellence. As a result of exceptional growth and commercial success, this firm’s leading International Tax Treasury group are looking to take on a dynamic International Tax Manager.
This group of dedicated international tax and treasury specialists help UK and internationally head quartered groups to address all their international structuring and planning needs. Helping clients to determine the best approach to their global tax strategy and structure, they provide advice on how to expand into new markets (including into the UK), how to structure their financing and the appropriate location for assets and activity, reorganisations and cross border structuring, rationalisation and divestment.
As a Tax Manager within this group, you will be a key point of contact across a portfolio of corporate clients. A trusted tax advisor, you will support you clients in the provision of the international tax planning and structuring, ensuring technical excellence and first rate client service. As a junior member of the leadership group, you will be work closely with Senior Managers / Directors and Partners to coach, develop and monitor junior members of staff. Your key projects and responsibilities will include:
• Advising UK and international groups on a range of cross border tax issues, group structuring, tax efficient financing, inbound and outbound investment, etc.
• Recommending strategies for managing clients’ effective tax rate using efficient intellectual property, financing and other strategies
• Project managing cross border teams and UK client service teams on an ongoing basis on advisory (and sometimes on MA) projects.
• Being the principal contact on day to day tax matters on allocated clients.
• Assisting on tax aspects of audits, in respect to international / restructuring issues.
• Coaching and developing junior members of staff.
• Assisting with business development work, including understanding the client’s business and helping to identify areas for the provision of tax and other services.
To be considered, you will need to have gained at least 4-5 years experience in corporate tax (international tax experience preferable), no prior treasury exposure is required. Your academics will reflect a consistent and proactive approach to work; you will therefore be educated to degree level and / or possess one of the following qualifications ATT / CTA/ ACA / CA. Prior experience of managing, coaching and developing will be essential. As this is an exclusively advisory focused role, you will need to demonstrate excellent communication skills and the ability to engage with senior stakeholders across a diverse client portfolio.
