The Moody's Tax Department consists of 19 tax professionals: 13 in NYC and three each in the UK and Hong Kong. With nearly 20 U.S. entities and 100 non-U.S. entities, the Department deals with complex issues across multiple jurisdictions. It is a faced paced, interactive and collaborative team.

Responsibilities
- Hands-on preparation and/or review of international tax aspects of US return; including but not limited to Forms 5471, 8858 and 8865, U.S. inclusions, Form 1118, disclosures, etc.
- Prepare monthly worldwide consolidated tax accounts reconciliations, quarterly and year-end international provisions with related documentation to support the tax provision, including discussion and explaining provision to management and external auditors.
- Prepare and/or review FAS 109 (accounting for income tax) computations/tax packages for non-U.S. jurisdictions.
- Analysis and preparation of deferred tax liabilities for foreign unremitted earnings pursuant to U.S. GAAP ACT 740. Updated knowledge on various tax issues with respect to international compliance, including multi-tier CFCs with check-the-box intricacies, 304 transactions, hovering deficit, 332 liquidation, 338 election, Sec 956 inclusion, Sec 987 and Subpart F income analysis.
- Work with non-US finance and tax personnel to obtain details and support for these computations, including foreign exchange rates and cumulative translation adjustments.
- Support tax examinations in both US and non-US jurisdictions and assist in determining strategy to defend tax positions and/or negotiate with tax authorities to obtain the most favorable result.
- Perform tax research and analysis to support various tax initiatives. (i.e., foreign dividend planning and cash re-deployment, what-ifs, gain/loss calculations) to determine U.S. tax implications.
- Function as Corptax Administrator for both Corptax International Compliance as well as Provision. Able to maintain Corptax Database and all foreign tax attributes in the system. Hands-on e-filing experience is also necessary.
- Supervise and train staff, including personnel in remote locations.

Qualifications
- Undergraduate or advanced degree in tax or business. CPA or MBA.
- Five to eight years of U.S. international tax experience in a multi-national corporation and /or Big Four.
- Tax return and/or provision experience desired.
- Experience with Corptax Provision and Preparation Software.
- Excellent in Excel skills and Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications.
- Demonstrated ability to work both independently and in groups to complete time-sensitive projects within internal and external deadlines.
- Strong analytical and communication skills.
