Chevron North America Exploration and Production Company (CNAEP) is accepting online applications for the position of Intervention Engineer to be located in Houston, Texas.

Overview:
The Intervention Engineer will plan, support and supervise the installation, maintenance, and inspection of subsea production trees, capital drilling equipment (BOPE) and control systems, subsea well interventions, completions and/or subsea workovers as required from from the office, service partner facilities or on MODUs.

Employee will be expected to live in the Houston Metropolitan area. Initially, there will be a mix of Rig based field rotational assignments and Office based work assignments (5/2 or 9/80). After this initial assignment (2-3 years), the expectation is that there will be a (2-3 years) office based assignment as an Invention Engineer.

Position Details:
Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:

  • Plan, support supervise all activities associated with SS well equipment installation from MODU.
  • Responsible for completions and SS Interventions as required.
  • Provides support for SSBOPE Controls maintenance/inspection for rigs while in assigned fields.
  • Support for all project owned intervention equipment.
  • Coordinates MSV (Multi Service Vessel) barge operations.

    Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Engineering with a minimum 2 years of OG experience OR High School Diploma with 6 years of OG experience.
  • Must be willing and able to work offshore and in fabrication yards for periods of up to 4 weeks. This position may supervise contractor staff and mentor/train less experienced intervention personnel. Candidate must be capable of planning the work and working the plan.
  • Demonstrated strong written and verbal communication skills, able to write understand technical documents and drawings.

    Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering is preferred.
  • Demonstrated aptitude with mechanical, electrical and hydraulic, concepts, controls and equipment.
  • Drilling / Completions Engineering and/or Drill Site / Well Site Manager experience is preferred.
  • Experience utilizing subsea oil gas equipment, including subsea trees, IWOCS, drilling and completion equipment subsea BOPE.
  • Well intervention is a plus.
